It's the only Singer I have that does duckies. It literally ejects them without being told to.

Although it is a decent machine when using the single stitch black cams it will not not work right with the double white cams. The black Top Hat Cams which came with the T & S Machines do work on the 403, and probably the 401 as well.
SEW ART SATIN STITCH SERIES
Some of the Singer 700 series (yes, they're "plastic wonders" and the one specifically that I have is a 758 Golden T & S) had the flexi-stitch cams which will make the duck, but the flexi-stitch cams do NOT work on the 401 or 403, or any of the others that I know of - I don't have a lot of experience with anything other than what I have (and which are mostly Singers) and i have no real embroidery machines. Then we'll be able to reproduce just about any sewing machine part that breaks! I'm looking forward to a few years down the road when there are even stronger materials that can be printed at a higher resolution. The top-hat discs are available in my Shapeways shop if anyone else wants one:ģD printing is pretty amazing. The 4-step zig-zag stitch that comes with the Singer slant machines doesn't work as well for stitching through elastic. I already have all of the available decorative stitch cams, and hardly ever use most of them, but what I do use all the time is a 3-step zig-zag stitch, so I designed 3-step and 2-step zig-zag discs. You can't make a Singer 401 stitch duckies, but I had a couple of top-hat discs 3D printed for my Singer 401A and 411G to make utility stitches that they don't come with.
